The Firefly (Světluška) lit up Prague Crossroads for already the eighth time on Wednesday, November 14. Seeing as well as talented blind musicians performed on one stage to add light to the lantern from which the Firefly will light the way for the blind the whole year.
The concert was broadcast live via the television screens of Česká televize and the waves of Radiožurnál. The evening was moderated by the duo of Adela Banášová and Pavel Liška, who ran to the concert from Tábor. Other celebrities who joined Aneta Langerová at Prague Crossroads to support the Firefly included Václav Neckář, Tomáš Klus, Daniela Kolářová, Buty, Anna Polívková, Tara Fuki, Márdi, Vavřinec Hradílek, the Kühn Children’s Choir, the children from the Ježek School and the following blind soloists: Ráchel Skleničková, Lukáš Kakara, Adam Blažek, Nelinka Franková, Kája Lískovec and the Sára and Klára Hyánková twins. The evening also included reports by documentarist Olga Špátová from the DEN POTMĚ (DAY IN THE DARK) documentary series with Iva Janžurová, Daniela Kolářová, and Bolek Polívka with Anna Polívková, during which they tried what it’s like to live one day without one of the most important human senses, eyesight.
This was the fifth time that the benefit concert, which is partnered by the VIZE 97 Foundation, took place at Prague Crossroads. The concert’s proceeds go to the Český rozhlas Foundation Fund.
