‘Sensational Seniors’, whose actions or work are exceptional, will receive the prize on Saturday 1 October 2016 at the Prague Crossroads from 14:00.
The Senior of the Year 2016 Prize was initiated by the Charter 77 Foundation as part of its project Sensational Seniors (SenSen). It aims to support seniors as an important part of our society. It is to inspire seniors and boost their self-confidence and interconnect elderly people who do not want to rest and receive outside assistance only. It will have two categories: Best Senior and Best Club. Another category is SenSen Golden Hall first opened in 2015. Exceptional seniors are inducted into the SenSen Golden Hall from the ranks of public figures whose actions or life successes have influenced all of our society.
The Senior of the Year 2016 Prize will be presented under the aegis of the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs. The project is supported by the Dagmar and Václav Havel Foundation VIZE 97.
